Lincoln was founded in 1862 and was named after the Earl of Lincoln, who was a foundation member of the Canterbury Association. Lincoln has a population of approximately 9,000 people and is home to the oldest agricultural tertiary institution in the Southern Hemisphere, Lincoln University.
The village boasts great café's, boutique shopping, as well as the university and plant and agriculture research organisations. It is a hive of families, students, retirees and is safe and always welcoming.
Lincoln boasts multiple walking trails within the village. Locals are spoilt for choice on their daily walks and runs, choosing from the Lincoln Wetlands, Liffey Springs, creek-side pathways, and much more.
The Rail Trail Rampage takes in many of the key scenic spots around the village, making the last few kilometres very special.
